You are here because you are concerned about your oral health. Dr. John is here to diagnose your situation and to treat disorders of the periodontium (the gums and bone tissues which support your teeth). Periodontal disorders effect almost 80% of the adult population to differing degrees, and, left untreated, can result in premature tooth loss. A periodontal disorder is rarely painful, and many times the signs are not visibly apparent but are detectable with x-rays and an instrument called a periodontal probe used to measure changes in the bone support around the teeth. Periodontal disorders are treatable in a variety of ways, with early diagnosis and treatment resulting in a greater probability of retaining your natural teeth for a lifetime.

For Your Comfort
ComfortYour comfort and satisfaction is extremely important to us. The majority of our procedures are performed with local anesthesia. Before any injections are given, we will apply a topical anesthetic gel which will numb the area.

We also may suggest the following:

Light Conscious Sedation
Light conscious sedation induces a state where most patients become so relaxed that they fall asleep on their own. This also allows an additional level of safety for patients with certain medical conditions. A local anesthetic is also given once the patient becomes more relaxed.

General Anesthesia
The anesthesia is administered by a fully qualified anesthesiologist.

For Your Added Comfort
All treatment rooms have head phones available for patients to listen to their choice of music during treatment. You may either choose from our collection or bring your favorite CDs with you.

In addition, practice ameneties like air condition, bilingual staff (English and German), and a fully qualified emergency nurse will make your stay even more comfortable. Back

When you call the office under 0211 866 00 22 you will most likely speak to the office manager, Frau Carola Bartel or Frau Sally Goetsches, my practice coordinator.

We will ask you a few questions to allow us to prepare for your first visit and answer any questions you may have about the practice. We attempt to scheule your first appointment as quickly as possible, which is usually within a week. In emergency cases, we will attempt to see you on the same day.

Consultation
Doctor during ConsultYour initial appointment will consist of a comprehensive examination explaining your diagnosis and treatment options. Our philosophy is to involve you in the process of selecting the best treatment for your unique situation. Generally, no treatment is rendered during this visit. If your dentist or physician has taken x-rays, you may request that they forward the x-rays to our office. If there is not enough time, please pick up the x-rays and bring them to our office.

Please feel free to e-mail or call us with any questions. Back
