| You are here because you are concerned about your oral health. Dr. John is here to diagnose your situation and to treat disorders of the periodontium (the gums and bone tissues which support your teeth). Periodontal disorders effect almost 80% of the adult population to differing degrees, and, left untreated, can result in premature tooth loss. A periodontal disorder is rarely painful, and many times the signs are not visibly apparent but are detectable with x-rays and an instrument called a periodontal probe used to measure changes in the bone support around the teeth. Periodontal disorders are treatable in a variety of ways, with early diagnosis and treatment resulting in a greater probability of retaining your natural teeth for a lifetime.
